Core Values
THE GOSPEL
God has rescued us by Jesus' work on the Cross, and His victory over sin, death and Satan through the Resurrection. Everything in our church flows from its understanding of the gospel, whether preaching, counseling, discipleship, music, evangelism, missions and so on.
John 3:16, Romans 3:24-25, Ephesians 2:13, Ephesians 2:10
BIBLICAL THEOLOGY
Everything that we believe, teach and sing will be Biblically true. Everything we do as a church will be in line with the Word of God. Sound doctrine is absolutely essential for a healthy church.
John 4:23-24, Titus 2:1
THE FAMILY
We believe the marriage union to be a reflection of the gospel. So we believe husbands should love their wives the way Christ loved the church and wives should subject themselves to their husbands as to the Lord.
Genesis 2:22-24, Ephesians 4:22-33
EXPOSITIONAL PREACHING
Preach rightly the Word of God. This style of preaching makes the main point of the text the main point of the sermon and therefore makes God's agenda rule the church; not the preacher's. The Word presents all that which we are to believe and to do.
Romans 10:14, 2 Timothy 4:2, Hebrews 4:12
BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING OF CONVERSION AND GROWTH
Conversion recognizes that only God can save, and that He saves individuals by enabling them to respond to the gospel message through repenting of sin and trusting in Christ. In true conversion…God brings to life that which was once dead. Discipleship teaches that a living Christian must be a growing Christian. The goal of discipleship is to see the Christian truly becoming "Christ-like".
Ephesians 2:5, Ephesians 2:8, Acts 11:18, Mark 1:15, 2 Peter 3:18, Ephesians 4:15-16
BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING OF EVANGELISM
This is a clarity in our role in the mission that God has given to the church, including sharing and living out the gospel. Evangelism includes serving and reaching out to the world!
Matthew 28:19-20 1 Peter 3:15
