Meet the Pastor

Marcus Wilson’s journey to the ministry comes as no surprise to those who know him well. He is the second-born of Pastor Nathaniel Wilson and the late Elsa “Belinda” Wilson. Having been born in Fort Worth, Texas, he is a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. At the age of 13, Marcus felt the Lord call him into ministry. It wasn’t until June 2015 when he accepted this call and he delivered his inaugural sermon on November 29, the same day as his father’s birthday, at the New Greater Morning Glory Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

He graduated from Arlington Bowie High School in 2006 with honors and attended both Boise State University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated from the College of Biblical Studies in Houston in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies and Biblical Counseling. In 2020, he earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Exposition from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Bible Exposition at Liberty.

In June 2016, he became the husband to the lovely Alesha Love-Wilson. Since then, they have experienced the blessing of growth in their marriage through many joys and trials. If you asked him what stands out the most about Alesha, he would say, “ aside from her wonderful looks, she is my steadfast pillar of strength, always supporting and uplifting me.”

If you could describe Marcus’s ministry in one word, it would undoubtedly be “servant.” He is dedicated to serving others through his ministry. He faithfully served as the Director of Media at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas, under the leadership of Dr. Michael A. Evans, Sr., from 2020 to 2023. He transitioned to the role of Executive Pastor at the Renewed Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of his father, Pastor Nathaniel Wilson in 2023. He currently serves at the Baptist General Convention of Texas (Texas Baptists) in the communications department as a marketing consultant.

Marcus is committed to helping others encounter Christ, guiding them in yielding their lives to God, and nurturing their spiritual development. He considers it a blessed privilege to preach and teach God’s Holy Word, recognizing that it is by God’s grace that we are allowed to serve.
